A somewhat recent, but overlooked change made by Facebook was allowing people to migrate their Facebook accounts to run in HTTP vs. HTTPS. The short explanation, it makes accessing your Facebook account much more secure. HTTPS stands for HTTP Secure.

To move your Facebook account to from HTTP to HTTPS, it is very easy. Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Under the Account tab in the top right, click Account Settings.
  2. Under Account Security, click Change.
  3. Under Secure Browsing (https), check the box.
  4. Click save.

Done.  It is that easy and should help prevent your Facebook from getting hacked, especially when accessing it over an unsecured network, such as at an internet cafe or coffee spot.
